CDM specialist with over 20 years in industry delivering the CDM-Coordinator, Principal Designer and CDM-Advisor roles. In addition, Mark is a qualified Health and Safety Consultant. Furthermore, Mark is an Association for Project Management qualified Project Manager, has Asbestos Surveying and Management qualifications, and is a BSI qualified Implementor and Lead Auditor of ISO 45001:2018 Health and Safety Management Systems. Mark also has an interest in Human Factors, Ergonomics and wider Behavioural Safety.

Mark is a current Committee Member, and past Vice Chair, of the London Region of the Association for Project Safety, a previous Committee Member of Constructing Excellence Wales and of the Generation for Collaboration and an Associate of Safety In Design.

Mark is a Certified Member of the Association for Project Safety, a Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, a Technical Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, an Incorporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Buildings and an Associate Member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.

Mark speaks at various events, conferences and conventions, including most notably at the Association for Project Safety National Convention in 2014 and has written several articles for a range of trade press publications including recently a Practice Note for the Association for Project Safety on CDM and Demolition, an article for Practical FM magazine on Asbestos Management and for various publications on COVID Risk Management. Mark has also been a panel member on various Webinars, most recently contributing to one which focused on the role of the Principal Designer within the new Building Safety Bill. Mark also delivers various CPD training days for Working Well Together, the Association for Project Safety and for various clients.

Mark is a father of three children and lives with his family near the seaside in Folkestone. He enjoys socialising with friends and family and loves sport – although this is now mainly reduced to watching his sons play football, rugby and volleyball and supporting the mighty Harlequins RFC!

Stonewells are an experienced multi-disciplinary construction consultancy. With offices in both London and on the Kent coast in Folkestone, we have easy access to our immediate local market across the South East and Home Counties.

Stonewells specialise in Construction (Design and Management) consultancy, chiefly the delivery of the Principal Designer and CDM-Advisor roles; the provision of statutory and operational compliance General and Environmental Risk Assessments, and; the delivery of various Occupational Health and Safety Management services including acting as retained Consultants or Advisors and the production and implementation of Management Systems to either ISO 45001:2018 or HSG65 Standards. We deliver these services to an array of clients from a broad spectrum of business sectors. We operate throughout the UK, however, we have also consulted across mainland Europe as well as in China too.

With over 20 years’ experience in the UK construction industry, Stonewells was established in 2013 and reignited in 2021 following a two-year hiatus. The business was borne out of a desire to deliver its core services more effectively than we had begun to see across the industry. Within this desire also sat the ambition to do deliver our services so diligently that clients, construction operatives, end users, their assets, their businesses and those with legal responsibilities were fully protected from legal recourse. Through this robust approach we are able to help ensure assets provide maximum returns – both operationally and financially, and that our clients return on their investment – in us as their trusted advisor and construction consultant and in their business, repays them generously.

Our integrated, pragmatic and flexible approach ensures our clients and wider construction colleagues remain engaged and involved at all stages and times. We ensure we commit the right level of resource to be able to provide the right information to the right people at the right time. Our delivery focuses on the 4c’s – collaboration, communication, coordination and cooperation.

Stonewells can demonstrate a consistent track record in delivering our services across a number of high-profile construction projects, some of which require complex engineering solutions to overcome significant constraints, challenges, hazards and risks. We have been fortunate to have been appointed on some of the UK’s biggest construction projects (Sizewell C and Bradwell B Nuclear New Builds for example) and several others by some of the UK’s biggest blue-chip organisations. Our sector strengths include, commercial; industrial; education; healthcare; power and energy; residential and transportation.
